Make up I'm currently really enjoying

Hello!

Happy Canada Day!!

Today, I'm doing something a little different.  I haven't shared any make up stuff for a while.  The main reason is, I enjoy make up and nail polish but it's not part of my job. Also, my pictures aren't exactly HD quality.  So I don't really like to share that too much in case it ruins the brand's image lol.

Recently I've done a massive clean up of my personal make up and nail polish collection.  I did a clean up post once but this time I didn't.  I kind of just ended up throwing it away without thinking.  I also sold some stuff too.

I just wanted to share what I'm currently really liking.  Just for fun. Or because I wanted to talk about it.

Marc Jacobs - The Lover Palette

I went to Hawaii recently on vacation just because I needed to get away.  I was already beginning to clean my make up collection but not to the extent as when I returned from my trip. I love my Urban Decay Naked Palettes.  I brought Naked 1 with me during my trip. While I really love it, I wanted something a little different and with more shimmer.  I was swatching different things at Sephora and ended up picking this up. It's very delicate in colour and more like a pink/rosy neutral look. It's still different from Naked 3 though. It is expensive though, and right now I can not picture myself travelling with it because I'm scared it'll break.

I'm not sure about the lasting power because I wear a eyeshadow primer but by afternoon, I did notice it faded.  I still really like it because I was looking for something lighter even though pigmented.  Just something different than my Naked palettes.

Clinique - Melon Pop

I ordered this online during the Sephora spring sale. I knew I wanted Fig Pop for sure and I was a little iffy about this one. I was worried it would look a little different.  When it came and I swatched it, I really loved it.  It's a lot more pink than I was expecting it to be.  I used this before taking a picture and this is probably one of the few blushes I own that the design is fading.

I am glad I bought this because it's a new favourite of mine.  What I really like about it is, to me, it's similar to MAC's Immortal Flower.  I don't wear that as often because it's LE and I am trying to preserve it (I know that sounds silly). Melon Pop is more pink though.

Tarte - Tartelette

I did not own many matte eyeshadows.  I'm not sure why but I always gravitated towards shimmery ones or satin ones.  If I had matte eyeshadow, it was because it came within a palette.  So this is my first full matte eyeshadow palette.  I ordered this in December when it first came out.  I'm glad it came out online on Sephora during the gift card promotion.

I bought this when it was C$47 online (now retails for C$53). Then with the $20 off, it was $27. So, that's not bad at all.  My picture of the palette, you can see that all the shadows still have "tarte" embedded. After my swatches, those are no longer as embedded.  So I did have to take a lot of product for my picture to turn out the way it did.

I do use them horizontally as I think it was meant to be used that way.  I tend to use the second from the left until the last one, basically not using the highlight shade. I'm working on that.

I can't say if this is the BEST matte palette ever, because this is the only matte palette I own. Some shadows are a bit powdery but I'm okay with it.  I haven't experienced fall out due to blending.  There is one shadow that I find hard to blend but I can't remember the name. I am glad I bought it and I really do enjoy it.

Thank you for reading this random post of mine, and bearing with the non-HD pictures.
