Swatch Comparisons: Icy, and Sea Blues

Hello everyone,

Today I have another comparison post.  I only did one so far with my mint/turquoise colours but I realize how interesting it is watching the colour really come out between each coat.  I prefer to do 2 coats on my own nail cause when it gets to three, it feels heavy.  There were a few months where I did do 3 coats of wear, but I decided to stop that for some reason.

This category was a little harder since not all of these are truly icy and sea blues only.  I realized that there are some polishes I could have totally place in this set that was part of my mint/turquoise post.  This is also the precise reason I love nail polish, especially the new nail polish because they are in between colour groups.

I also decided to do this comparison since I really had a lot of fun doing the mint/turquoise one, and I recently bought OPI Can't Find My Czechbook from the Euro Centrale collection.

Set 1
1. Essie - Absolute Shore
2. Joe Fresh - Mist Brume
3. Sephora by OPI - Fancy Schmancy
4. OPI - I Vant to be A-lone Star

Set 1 Bottles

1 Coat

2 Coats

3 Coats

 3 Coats with Sunlight

I bought #3 Sephora by OPI - Fancy Schmancy during a Boxing Day blow out for about C$5.  I was so excited because this was when I had a modest nail polish collection mainly from the drugstore.  I was pretty disappointed because I was hoping it would look like the bottle, which was this shimmery icy blue.  I think it took many coats to get that look.  Like about 3 is when you start to see this come together.  It's easy to swatch on the colour wheel but on my finger I remember I was disappointed.  Luckily I paid $5 for it.

Set 2
5. Dior - Galcier LE in Asia
6. Essie - Borrowed & Blue
7. China Glaze - Sea Spray
8. Butter London - Lady Muck

Set 2 Bottles

1 Coat

2 Coats

3 Coats

3 Coats with Sunlight

I have seen #6 Essie Borrowed & Blue in other pictures and it looks a lot more sky blue than it does when I wear it or even on my swatch.  I'm not sure but it seems like it's whiteout with a hint of blue.  I'm going to eventually attempt to wear this shade.

Set 3
9. OPI - I Have a Herring Problem
10. Essie - Bikini so Teeny
11. Essie - Coat Azure
12. Nicole by OPI - Nothing Kim-pares to Blue

Set 3 Bottles
1 Coat
2 Coats
3 Coats
 3 Coats with Sunlight

I found #9 OPI I Have a Herring Problem interesting.  It's not what I expected from other swatches but I like it.  It's different.  I also liked swatching it here since it really brought out the colour of the polish with each coat.  I have worn this before but not to the office just yet.

Set 4
13. Rescue Beauty Lounge - Aqua Lily
14. Rescue Beauty Lounge - Faraway LE GOMM collection
15. OPI - Can't Find My Czechbook
16. Essie - Beach Bum Blu

Set 3 Bottles

1 Coat

 2 Coats

 3 Coats

3 Coats with Sunlight

I ordered #14 Rescue Beauty Lounge's Faraway originally because I wanted some of the BiB4 (Bring it Back 4) collection and since I have to pay for shipping, I need to make it worth while.  So I picked up Faraway just because I like colours of this type.  I did some reading on the Rescue Beauty Lounge website and found out that anything part of the GOMM collection, due to naming legal issues, they are limited edition and will never be brought back in any of the Bring it Back offerings.

Set 5
16. Essie - Beach Bum Blu
17. OPI - Go On Green!
18. Joe Fresh - Teal Cyan
1. Essie - Absolute Shore

Set 5 Bottles

 1 Coat

 2 Coats

3 Coats

 3 Coats with Sunlight

I have to admit I'm very surprised the way #17 OPI Go on Green! appears.  I thought it would look more like the bottle but I knew there would be a green sheen.  I still like the way it looks, but I didn't expect it to be as sheer as it was.  I didn't pay attention to the display in the store when I bought it.

All bottles were purchased by me.
