Hello!
Today I have Essie's Van D'Go to share.
Before I start my post, I just wanted to say that lately I've been going through my polish collection and I've sold a lot of it. Maybe more than half of it. I've been buying OPI/Essie polishes starting from 2008 and during my stressful busy seasons is when I usually buy a lot. I noticed that I didn't wear a lot of it. I've disposed it in the hazardous waste depot and I've sold some for a discount. So my collection isn't as long and this might affect future posts.
I opened up an instagram account but I haven't posted a lot on it. If you would like to follow me, my name is just my blog name which is BLUETIPSWATCHES. I'm trying to put effort in posting, so there might not be anything on it.
Anyway back to the post. I bought Van D'Go a long time ago but I haven't worn it for quite some time and I remember liking it.
This is the perfect peachy pink for me. This is like the colour I look for in my blushes. I really liked how it looked on my nails. For me personally, if I had to choose between Van D'Go and Tart Deco, I would choose Van D'Go. Tart Deco is more orange and sometimes it looks more like an orange creamsicle type of orange. Also Van D'Go is lighter in shade.
For application, this is one of those Essie polishes where the first one is batchy for me. I wore this shade with two coats until Wednesday and I had some chipping. Then I added another coat. After 3 coats, the colour definitely was a lot more opaque without any streaks. I remember when I painted my nails with Van D'Go before, it was also a three coater.
Basecoat: Essie First Base
Colour layer: Essie Van D'Go (2-3 coats)
Topcoat: Essie Good to Go
Brush shot
Two coats
A little patchy but it didn't bother me too much and I think it still looked very pretty.
Wednesday pictures after third coat applied.
I don't remember where I bought Van D'Go. It has been a while. I can say that this is a rediscovered favourite!
