OPI: My Dogsled is a hybrid

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I will be reviewing OPI's My Dogsled is a hybrid from the Nordic collection.

I have to apologize in advance since my pictures were taken early in the morning before the sunrise.  With fall here and before daylight savings, the days start later and end earlier.  Basically when I wake up at 6:45am, it's dark outside.  By the time I arrive home, it's dark outside.

I painted my nails on Sunday night since I didn't have time during the day and so I end up with pictures with my desk lamp and not naturally lighting.  Sorry about that.

More after the jump!

Thoughts
My Dogsled is a hybrid is a pretty green nail polish. It is kind of aqua like but in the green family and it kind of reminds me of a bright jade colour.  The colour is really pretty and I like wearing it.  To be honest, it didn't really feel like fall for me.  The funny thing is, I bought the mini set because I wanted this colour.  So, I have decided if I would wear this during the cold winter but I might.  At the moment, I am leaning towards more dark colours or muted colours.

Formula wise it was pretty good.  The brush is not the pro-wide brush as it is with their regular size bottles but this worked well for me.  It was pretty opaque in two coats, but I added a third because I had some brush strokes.  Somehow, always near the side, there would be brush stroke dent. It covered nicely in three coats.

Breakdown
Basecoat: Essie First Base
Colour layer: OPI My Dogsled is a hybrid (3 coats)
Topcoat:  Essie Good to Go

I managed to take some shots with my phone outside when the sun came up.  This is the true colour of the polish.  It is really pretty!

I bought my set at Trade Secrets for $14.99. The mini set is 3.75mL or 1/8 Fl. Oz each bottle.  Is it worth it compared to buying a full size?  Cost wise, not really considering 3.75mL x 4 - 15mL which is a full size.  However, the benefit is I get 3 extra colours.  I have never finished a full bottle of polish, so it's good enough for me to play around with this.  I know some other places normally retail this for $16.99.
