I bought Sunday Funday today at Trade Secrets. I was trying to resist this shade since I have my Dior which is a peachy shimmer but this is more coral, so I thought I would buy it. Last week at Shoppers Drug Mart, there was a one day sale of Essie polishes for $6.99 for selected shades. I found the new Essie Summer Collection, but that was regular price for $11.99. Since I wanted it enough to ask the Cosmetician, I decided to go to Trade Secrets. I bought it for $8.95. It's funny how Essie ranges in price. I think it's about $7.96 at Walmart, and that's the price at Nailpolishcanada.com.
Thoughts
I painted this later tonight, so I just quickly painted it. I had read in other blogs that it was uneven and that three coats were needed. I didn't find this problem. I had some unevenness but it wasn't the polish, it was me. I wasn't sure if I was just swatching this or if I was going to wear this for the week. I decided that I will wear this for the week, so I had to paint the rest of my nails. Similar to Naughty Nautical, I felt like it was opaque after one coat. I added a second because I was painting this pretty quickly and needed it to be more even. For Essie creme shades, the first coat is always streaky and then it's even by the second coat. I didn't have this problem with Sunday Funday or Naughty Nautical. The finish is similar to Naughty Nautical where it's jelly like.
The colour is described as a tangerine coral crush with shimmer. I find that this leans really coral and I don't notice any tangerine-ness in this. I do still really like this shade though. I'm not sure what's happening to me since these past few posts with these bright pinks, corals, etc. I usually say how I don't usually lean towards these colours but I'm loving them this year!
