Hi everyone, today I have butter London's Tea with the Queen. I've been wearing a lot of bright colours lately to work, and I just felt like I needed to tone it down a little. So instead going with no polish, I decided to paint my nails with this nude-pink colour. I have to say it was pretty refreshing to not have such dramatic colours on my nails.
Thoughts
Tea with the Queen, like all the butter London polishes I own, has a very smooth consistency to apply. The first coat still showed some of my nail lines, so I used two coats. I found that the polish itself is easy to spread. What I like about this colour is, although it's a creme, it looks very light weight. It's hard to describe, but I find that there are some cremes that are opaque but it naturally looks like there is a white base or it looks pastey but there are some other cremes where the colour is opaque but there's this nice shiny finish that isn't too heavy. I wouldn't call it like a jelly formula because it's not.
My friend commented on how this colour is very Office Lady. Would many people really want to spend C$17 on an office friendly polish? I'm not too sure if it's worth it for everyone. Some might want to, and I know I did. I used butter London for my base and top coat. Since I used the same brand for all the layers, I would expect the polish to last a little longer but it did have some slight chipping from the second day. Lately, I've noticed that my butter London's chips pretty quickly. For the price, it might not be worth it.
What I did find with using the butter London top coat is that the polish dried really quickly. Which I was very happy about since I painted my nails late at night.
