Today I have something else to share, nail polish remover. I'm not sure how important I feel about nail polish remover but of course because I'm painting and removing polishes so often, it's quite important. These are the ones I've used recently.
Sally Hansen Maximum Strength (empty bottle) - I actually finished the bottle and it's for sensitive nails or soft nails. mine aren't but for some reason, I always ended up picking up the pink polish remover. I think it's ok but it might be a bit drying to my nail because I did notice a lot of ridging (now this might also happen because I'm removing polish so often).
Butter London Powder Room - This came in the "Backstage Basics" Set that included the top coat, base coat, nail polish remover and a nail colour of my choice. It says it's acetone free and it works very well. It smells like baby powder, and it kind of lingers on. I personally don't mind the smell and find this very easy to remove nail polish. It does give a bit of an oily residue feeling afterwards. I do really like this though.
Zoya 3-in-1 formula remover - I bought this as part of a promotion at nailpolishcanada.com and wanted to try it because it seems like all the beauty bloggers rave and love this. It does move polish pretty easily. The top is a press down top, so you can click and unclick it to lock. Sometimes I find that I need to really pump a lot in order for my cotton pad to have enough nail polish remover. I stupidly did this near my computer and some of it spilled as I was pressing it down. Let's just say on the side of my laptop, there's like these big dots that won't go away because the plastic has been eaten away by the polish remover. (I am not blaming the bottle of course, but it did happen to me). The thing is, everyone comments on how lovely the smell is. It smells like lavender scent. I'm not sure if I received a bad product but I find the smell way too strong and it lingers in my room. After I've thrown away my cotton pad, my trash smells like this. So, I'm personally not a fan of the smell.
EDIT: 2014-01-05 I have finally finished my bottle of Zoya nail polish remover. While I still can't really stand the smell, I have to say that I noticed an overall difference in terms of my nails. With multiple removal, my nail beds never rippled or seemed dried. That's a major plus!
Quo - I believe Quo is a Canadian brand and I picked this up at Shoppers Drug Mart while it was on sale. I think this is before I received my Zoya. I still use this because I find it pretty effective. I'm not sure if it's harsh on my nails, that's the only thing. I also recently bought a Quo nail polish remover where you dip your finger and it removes the polish by the time you pull your finger out. It doesn't seem as fast as the Sephora brand I've heard about, it does the job.
