Today I have Essie's Boxer Shorts. Essie recently came out with a "Best Of Collection". Before the reveal, I was really looking forward to it because I wanted something from the older collections before I was into nail polish. Specifically the North Fork Collection in 2009.
Then the colours were revealed and I realized I had 5 of the 6 colours. So I decided to paint my nails with Boxer Shorts. I have painted this on my toes before but I never did my fingers. I feel like last year, not many people in my office had bright or shocking colours but this year we have all come out of our shells. I received many compliments for Boxer Shorts. Even people who don't usually compliment my nails, took time to say how nice the colour was. I was surprised. One of my coworkers, who loves China Glaze, saw my nails and said, "You have Essie on, don't you?" I guess she realized that I own a lot of Essie polishes.
Thoughts
Everything about Boxer Shorts was perfect. I used two coats and the shine is very pretty. I think I mentioned that there is a certain something that I love about Essie polishes, and I think this falls into that category. It's hard to explain. I painted my nails on Sunday and took it off by Wednesday because I wanted to paint my nails with a new polish. There was minimal chipping from those days, so that was absolutely amazing. I was really taken back by the colour of Boxer Shorts. I mean in the bottle it looks like a purple but it can be blue as well. Definitely in the periwinkle family.
I apologize for that scab on my ring finger. I accidentally got cut from my gym bag when I was on the bus.
Base coat: Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Colour coat: Essie Boxer Shorts (2 coats)
Top coat: Seche Vite
I bought Boxer Shorts last year at Shoppers Drug Mart. This is supposed to be a relaunch so I'm sure it'll be popping up in most salons.
