Urban Decay: The Glinda Palette

Today I have something different to share.  I bought the OZ Glinda Palette when it first came out online at Sephora.  I really like Urban Decay eye shadows.  When I first got into make up, I was using mainly Japanese make up brands but then I switched to Urban Decay.  I have monolids, and I'm growing out my eyebrows, so there's not going to be any eye look, but I just wanted to share this.

I realized it's hard for me to describe colours, so I've included Sephora's description since their description is most likely taken from the press release.  I really wish I could be more descriptive with colours, but I'm pretty limited in going deep down into the colour.

Packaging of the palette

It's pretty packaging and I usually lean towards the brighter things, so I felt like the cover of this palette was more me than the Theodora Palette.

The set opened up.  I have used the shadows before so my pictures aren't newly opened pictures.

The pack of the postcard teaches you how to get Glinda's look.

The palette with the 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Rockstar.  I have the eyeshadow Rockstar, so I like that I have the eye pencil.

Tornado which is a dark purple. On Sephora the description is: Tornado (vibrant deep purple shimmer)

Aura has two colours, on the left it seems like a light bluish colour and the right side is a cream. On Sephora it's described as: Aura (iridescent white with blue shift and iridescent white with red shift),

Magic - baby pink on the picture it leans towards a little purple but on my eye it seems a pretty powdery pink.  On Sephora it's described as Magic (pinkish purple with golden shimmer),

Illusion - Peach.  On Sephora it's described as Illusion (pale peach satin),

Oz: two colours.  On the left it's like an olive with glitter and the left is like a silver.  On Sephora it's described as Oz (gold with gold glitter and silver with silver glitter),

South - To me it's like a gun metal grey but it leans a little brown to me.  On Sephora it's listed as  South (warm pale gray shimmer with silver micro-glitter)

Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Glinda.  This is a natural lip colour.  This is my favourite item of this palette.  Before I bought it, this was the item that changed my mind on whether I wanted this palette or not.  I think it looks pretty on my skin tone and it's pretty glossy.  It's not like a lip stain though so it does rub off.  I wouldn't say it was moisturizing either.  I wore it to a wedding and I had to reapply because I was constantly drinking water and pop since the food was spicy.  So this rubbed off on the glass.

I didn't want to give a false way of the shadows look so I just decided to rotate my arm.

In this angle Magic looks more pink-purple

I decided to compare different ones that I had before.
L: Mushroom R: South

 L: Mushroom R: South
I had to add more colour in my swatch so that a difference could be seen.  I felt like South had more of a brownish/coopery tone.  Whereas Mushroom seems to lean more on the cooler side.

 L: Rockstar R: Tornado

  L: Rockstar R: Tornado

I feel like Rockstar is a bit darker than Tornado.

Overall, I like this palette.  I'm very happy I have the lip colour but I have to sharpen it, that's the only thing.  I hope the pencil doesn't break or any pieces ending up on the colour after I sharpen it.  I have pencil sharpeners but I usually use those for my eye pencils.

For the two colours that I swatched to compare, I do prefer Mushroom and Rockstar more than South and Tornado.  For me, I feel like Mushroom and Rockstar are more pigmented.  The entire palette is very pretty but for Magic and Peach, I have to add more to my brush to get it to show.  I apply make up in the morning while I'm still half a sleep, so that could be the reason but I also have monolids, so although it might not be noticeable, I wanna know I can see it :).

I bought this palette on Sephora.ca for C$58.00
