Hello there!
I have a quick post about a nail design I wore to a friend's wedding. It's very simple. It's not a real design but it's more fancy than me just painting my nails.
I won't actually be reviewing Rescue Beauty Lounge's Plie because it's no longer in stock on the website. I also bought this during the 50% off sale. I used it as my base colour because I wanted to finally wear this but any other nude/pink/beige base colour would have done. The colour that comes to my mind that is similar to Plie is Essie's Lady Like.
Breakdown
Basecoat: Essie First Base
Colour layer: Rescue Beauty Lounge Plie (2 coats), thin coats of Essie's Set in Stones and A Cut Above
Topcoat: Essie Good to Go
Left Hand: less glitter (I realize the close up shot of this looks pretty chunky looking but it's not that visible in real life. Also, for finer details, my right hand isn't as good as my left, which is why I took a picture of my right)
Right hand: a little more glitter
Random observation: I painted my nails at night. My right hand nails are fully covered with 2 coats but my left are still patchy. Sorry about that.
Usually when I do glitter, I do the entire nail. It's also hard to control the amount of glitter when I do the entire nail. Lately I've noticed a lot of nail designs like this where it's half the nail and very thin layers. It's also available for nail decals or press on nails.
What I really like about this look is the combination of Essie's Set in Stones and A Cut Above. I have never worn A Cut Above on it's own and I think it's very pretty to have the red and silver glitter work together. A Cut Above isn't a strong dark red, so in this look, it gives a pretty soft red edging copper or pink depending on the angle. If I layered it, it'd probably look very different.
Tip: If I can offer one tip for the glitter, it's to remove as much glitter off the brush after you dip it in the polish. Then use the glitter on the rim of the bottle. I felt like I could control the amount of glitter better when I did that.
Thank you for stopping by!
