a-England: Saint George

Hello!

I kick off September, I decided to go a little darker with my polish.  Today I have a-England's Saint George.

I was wondering what to paint on my nails, and I wanted to do a stamping.  The stamping didn't end up happening.  I avoided Saint George before because it's such a dark green and I wasn't sure how crazy the holographic would go on my nails. My thought after the jump!

Thoughts
Saint George is a very pretty dark green with a holo effect.  It looks very rich on the nail.  It actually don't look like it does on the bottle where the holo is more apparent but it's still there and very beautiful.   The silver holo part isn't very apparent in this, I see more green and yellow.  I dig that because it's nice to not always have silver glitter to make it more holo.

I want to add that I've had this shade for a while but this is the first time I painted this.  My brush was a little strange. While painting, a bristle came loose and I had to remove with with tweezers.  This has never happened to me before with a-England.  The formula is pretty thick, I found that if I painted with a thick coat, the application was a lot nicer.  It was also easier to control.  I thought that I was painting pretty clean but my pictures still show some marks near my cuticles (sorry!).  I only needed one coat for my nails, and I think that's pretty awesome.  Even though it's thick and I painted my nails with a thick coat, the polish dried really quickly.

Side story: I had painted three fingers originally (thumb, pointer and pinky) with Saint George and my two fingers (middle and ring) with Sand Tropez from Essie to do some nail art.  It didn't work out and I had to remove all my polish because I got cotton fuzz stuck.  When I removed the polish, it got all over the place and I really had to remove it.  My nails were stained.  This is probably another reason I decided to repaint with this polish just because I already stained it, I may as well give it another chance.  when I spot remove with a brush around the edges of my nails, it's fine though. So I want to warn you, that there is a high probability of staining!

I think Saint George is a very popular shade from a-England.  Originally I wanted to buy this off of their official website but had some problems due to shipping from the UK.  I ended up buying this off of nailpolishcanada.com.

Breakdown
Basecoat: Essie First Base
Colour layer: a-England Saint George (1 coat)
Topcoat:  Essie Good to Go

Brush shot. You can see how thick the polish is because it's not exactly dripping easily.  I'm not sure if it's cause I've had my bottle for a while even though I never painted with it.

My lighting is going a big crazy but it shows the different ways how the polish can look

Since I mentioned last time I was reading A Storm of Swords, and it's green, I thought I would take a picture with it.  In this shot, I would say Saint George is in it's truest form.  a-England has a lighter green holo called Dragon (which I don't own).

I bought this off of nailpolishcanada.com because I had some shipping problems from the a-england website.  I received excellent customer service when I encountered my problem.  Right now this polish is selling for C$12.95 at nailpolishcanada.com if you are interested.  I haven't found a-England polishes in store.
