OPI: Every Month is Oktoberfest

Hi! Fall is here!

I just returned back from a trip to Cancun.  One of my Junior High school friends got married there.  While it was nice to be in the sun, I'm pretty glad to be back in Toronto. I mean it's cold, but I really want to put my sweaters on and wear fall colours.  I had bright colours on at the beach, but I yearned for fall colours! I'll probably be saying something different when winter comes.

I don't go to the beach often but I love the amazing colours.

Anyway, here's the main reason for my post.  I wearing OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest

More after the jump!

I bought Every Month is Oktoberfest in 2012 as it was part of the Germany Collection.  I never got the chance to wear this.  I bought most of the Germany 2012 collection but ended up selling a lot of the colours.  I kept Every Month is Oktoberfest.  I like how it's a deep wine red with purple shimmer hints.  Today, all my coworkers thought I was wearing dark purple to be honest.  I think there's a richness to this colour.

I took my pictures in the morning.  I think it's interesting how they came out to look more red considering this was early morning when the sun just came up.  I didn't use flash.

Thoughts
Application wise, it applied very smoothly.  I used two coats.  During the first coat, although it was mostly opaque, some parts were sparse and it ended up to be a darker red that was leaning towards looking blackish.  The second coat evened out the colour.

Today is my second day wearing this colour and my nail tips are beginning to come through already.  It's probably more noticeable because this is such a rich, dark colour.  Also I noticed that if I had cream on and it got on my nails, it would be more noticeable.

I also want to say that this colour is very similar to Midnight in Moscow.  I had owned that but sold it considering they were close dupes.

Breakdown
Basecoat: Essie First Base
Colour layer: OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest (2 coats)
Topcoat:  Essie Good to Go

It's interesting how the colour changed from the original bottle shot to this.  This is a truer reflection of the colour. Also, I really tried to paint my nails nicely but the camera just captures so much!

I bought Every Month is Oktoberfest at Trade Secrets.  I still see the Germany Fall 2012 collection at Trade Secrets.  It's also available at nailpolishcanada.com.  (I don't get paid by them but I seem to plug them a lot).
