Comparisons: Fun Post of My Orange blushes

I had started this post before I went away for vacation at the end of June, but I never got around to actually posting it up.  Now that it's the end of the month, I'm about to go on vacation soon.  Which is why I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to blog.

Anyway, this post is just a simple swatch post.  Originally what I wanted to do was compare all the orange to coral blushes that I own.  The reason I wanted to do this was because the MAC Orange Collection had came out (see it's been awhile).  I really like orange colours for make up since it's so different but by the time I got to the website, everything was sold out.  Then when it arrived to the store, I didn't want to buy too much, so I bought two blushes in the end.

My post will be image heavy and I'm going to let the colours speak for themselves because they actually turned out quite different.  Also, it's hard to compare the blush colour since I'm trying to go for the same family.

Here ya go!
MAC Immortal Flower: MAC Orange Collection LE

MAC Royal Sunset: MAC Orange Collection LE

MAC Peaches: Permanent Collection

Tarte blushes: Permanent Collection

I always thought Tipsy was pretty orange, but comparing to the MAC blushes, it's more coral here.

Illamasqua Lover: Permanent Collection

This Sephora Blush was from last year's colour of the year collection and was limited edition.  I still love the blushes though, so I threw it in.  Sorry if any of you decide that you like this and it's no longer available

Nars Orgasm: Permanent Collection. I'm not sure why my blush is so bumpy.  It doesn't affect the payoff but it just looks weird.  I found that I don't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would given that this is a cult favourite.  I think the golden sheen makes my face look oily (I have an oily face as it is).  So I prefer a matte blush, though I didn't know this when I first bought Orgasm.

I always thought NARS Orgasm looked very similar to the Sephora blush in Coral but I guess not.  It's a lot  lighter.

Thank you for reading my post.  This is easier for me to write since most of my work was taking pictures and editing.  I'm not an expert on blushes, and usually they melt off my oily face by the afternoon.  However, I still enjoy wearing it in the morning because it's fun.

Vacation Nails: Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily and Essie Madison Ave-hue

I spent a week in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic last week.  Originally I was planning to do something that I couldn't wear to work, so that it would really be vacation and I could wear something more creative and crazy.  I did try to do strips and some nail art but I didn't like how it turned out.

Also I planned to take Essie's Madison Ave-hue with me in case I needed to repaint my nails.  I know, it seems a little ridiculous that I would want to change my nail colour during vacation but for any beach resort vacation, if there's nothing to do other than relax, I would bring something to change my nail polish.

Anyway, I decided to paint my nails with Rescue Beauty Lounge's Aqua Lily and do an accent nail on my ring finger with Essie's Madison Ave-hue.

I must confess that I bought Aqua Lily on eBay since I didn't realize that once RBL colours ran out that it would be never come back.  So I paid a little more than retail, which was like C$27 in total (not too bad), but the brush is half cut even though the description said it was brand new.  I won't go into much detail of that.

Overall, I really liked the colour, it was kind of like a watermelon effect that I didn't realize until I was finished.  Two coats for each polish and my top coat was Seche Vite.

I just love how bright Madison Ave-hue comes off.  To be honest, after running my fingers through sand, and in pool water for 4 days, I realized that my polish started to wear down.  Not chipping but just loosing it's shininess.  Aqua Lily definitely started to chip faster compared to Madison Ave-hue.  My pointer fingers usually are the easiest to chip though since I used those fingers the most.

I think the funny thing is, after wearing such bright colours for a week, once I returned home I was so ready to wear non-bright colours.  I settled for Nars Sharks in the purple shade.

Nicole by OPI: Selena

I picked up Selena from the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez collection awhile ago after it was available in Shoppers.  It was on sale for $5.99, so I thought it was a good deal.  Lately, Shoppers has been having great sales for nail polishes.  There are days where Essie is $6.99 for the Saturday/Sunday special, and then $7.99 regular.

Thoughts
When I first saw this colour, I had wanted to buy it but I saw some reviews that were pretty mix.  Saying that it takes about 4 coats for it to be opaque.  Well this did hold true and it's pretty thick, the colour itself is pretty.  It's a shame it takes 4 coats though.  Even 3 coats seems to be excessive to me.

Originally I had painted my nails with the intention of wearing it for the week but changed my mind after the 4 coats.  Just because it kind of made my fingers feel heavy.  I haven't given Selena another try since.  I probably will in the future but just not right now.
