Illamasqua: Pink Raindrops

I bought Pink Raindrops on the launch date just in case it was sold out or something, like how Raindrops was sold out pretty quickly.  The only thing was, I wasn't sure if i would receive my package.  I did receive a promo code due to the shipping delay of my original package in January.  I have read some customers who had a bad experience during the shipping delay for nail polishes, and the shipping cost was expensive, but overall my personal experience with the Illamasqua customer service team has been pleasant.  In addition to Pink Raindrops, I also redeemed the coupon code for a blush, which was about the cost of the shipping.  My package arrived pretty quickly, about 3 weeks?

Thoughts
After I bought this, I read reviews from other beauty bloggers and they have stated that this is not the same jelly finish as the original Raindrops.  The formula here is pretty thick, when I applied the first coat it was opaque enough to cover my entire nail.  I used a second coat just to even out the polish but it's not really that necessary.  Either it's the thickness of the polish or I didn't wait long enough but during the second coat, sometimes the first coat would drag a little bit.

This is a strange comment to make but I felt as if my polish was out for a long time, as if I accidentally left it opened (like my Zoya GieGie that pooled), but I didn't.  Even upon opening, it just felt like the polish was so thick that it had been previously opened, although it wasn't.  Maybe this is my patch.

It's just sad because I really do like my original Raindrops but this one I'm not too sure how I feel.  I wish it was more jelly like, and not as thick.

Also with the packaging, I prefer to take the square cap off and then just twist the brush handle.  The brush handle fits perfectly in the cap and can get stick together with it but I don't like how I can't get the cap to align with the bottle.  Also I worry that I might not completely seal off the bottle and there could be some pooling polish.

Colour Coat: Illamasqua Pink Raindrops (2 coats)
Top coat: Nicole by OPI Top Coat Plus

I do like the box packaging that Illamasqua has.

Brush shot, I had removed some polish so it looks like it's a bit dry here

This is the brush cap I was talking about before.  Since there is a square cap, I'm very happy that Illamasqua made this brush cap but the ridges make it really hard to close and open sometimes.  Dior, Chanel and Butter London has this type of concept and feels more comfortable.

I ordered Raindrops on the Illamasqua website in January for £13.50.  There's also £8.50 for shipping to North America.  I have noticed that this has appeared on the Sephora website for C$22.00, the price must have increased because I bought the Speckled polish for C$18.

UPDATE

Just a comparison between Raindrops and Pink Raindrops
