CND Vinylux System: Tinted Love

Hello!

Today I have a review on my experience with the CND Vinylux system. This is a very image intense post.  Though the images kind of shift because there are some day and night photos, just to show the effects of the polish.

I hope you find it informative if you are trying to decide if you want to buy something from this.
First off, a quick look at the Top Coat and Tinted Love.

I bought this at IMATS last weekend.  I was excited to try this because it claims to last for 7 days.  I usually get pretty good polish wear from OPI or Essie.  However, I wanted something to last at least 7 days if I was on vacation or something.  While on vacation, my nails seem to chip just as easily and I don't want to be annoyed at my nails.  An option is gel nails or shellac, but I want to do something at home and while I want to have my polish last, I also want the option of taking it off myself and painting another colour.

So, from what I gathered at IMATS, the colour polish has colour and a base included. Then there is the top coat. I bought both for C$6.20 each.  I choose Tinted Love because I wanted a colour that I could go to for any type of vacation I might go to (beach resort, or city, etc.).  It looked like a nice berry colour.

Daytime day 1

I painted my nails with two coats of Tinted Love.  I tried to cover my nails, so I wouldn't say they were thin coats, maybe thin to medium thickness coats. After waiting for 7 minutes, I added the Weekly Top Coat.

I noticed that even after my nails were dried, when I added the Weekly Top Coat, some colour came off and transferred to the top coat brush.

End of day 2

My middle finger and thumb had chipped.  The tip edges of my nail have come off. There is a change in the colour, while it is still shiny, it seems to have gotten darker and the coat itself has scratches.

End of day 3

I realized to give a better review of this, I should add my right hand. So the way I took pictures have changed. Sorry!

Left hand: My pink nail has started to chip as well.

Right hand: Looking pretty good.

End of day 4
Not much change on both hands.

Overall Impressions
I took my polish off on Thursday night because I wanted to do something else on Friday. I wore my polish from Saturday until Thursday night. I also figured one more day might not make a difference if I intend on removing it by the afternoon.

Since I did not have a base coat, I wonder if my nails would stain.  Usually I take 1 cotton ball and that can remove all the polish from all my nails.  The polish is strong and while removing, the polish went over my fingers. I had to use about 3 cotton balls in total.  While I would call that cleaning up the residue, my nails aren't really stained.  So I would say it was okay.

Here are my bare nails

While the first day was a bit shaky since the polish did chip on my left hand in a few spots, I am overall pretty happy with the polish. My right hand did not chip since only the nail tips were a little worn off.  I noticed the parts without the topcoat did chip off easily mid-week. Also, it remained relatively shiny but the colour did look dull.

I wouldn't say this system out performs my regular polish because sometimes I can get a week wear from OPI or Essie and sometimes depending on the colour and depending on the top coat. However, I am still pretty happy with my purchase .
