Essie: A Crewed Interest

Hi!!

Today I have a polish to share with you that came out a few years ago.  I bought A Crewed Interest when it first came out in 2012, I believe.

Thoughts
I've had this colour for a long time and I rarely wear it.  It's a bit lighter than Van D'Go.  I was looking through my collection to see what colours to get rid of, and I came across this.  I like the colour on the bottle and I wanted to give it another try.  I forgot why I don't wear this often.

So, I like the colour, and I guess this review doesn't matter since it's been available for 3 years now, but I don't like the formula.  I completely forgot about that.  It was streaky on the first coat, so I painted a thicker second coat, but I realized I needed to do a third coat.  Even then it was still streaky.  I was going to do a design so I let my nails dry and took some pictures.  Anyway, due to my thick coats, my left pointer and thumb smudged and some other fingers were on the verge of that.  I removed it.  So, now I know why I don't wear this.  Such a shame since the colour is so pretty.

Lately, I've been having good experiences with Essie in terms of formula for their newer polishes, I forgot how some of the older polishes that are creme had such tricky formulas that involve a lot of patience.

Breakdown
Basecoat: Essie First Base
Colour layer: Essie A Crewed Interest (3 coats)
Topcoat:  None, I didn't get to this step

I also realized that I've tried painting my nails with this before, which is the reason my bottle seems pretty used up but it always ended to be streaky or some smudging that I would have to remove my manicure. Also, I think I end up over painting because I load up my brush so much with polish that I need to clean up the cuticle area.
