Rescue Beauty Lounge: Santa Fe

This has just become Rescue Beauty Lounge week for my blog.  I received my package last Wednesday.  Since it's my busy season, I have been staying over at my brother's house because it was closer to work.  On Wednesday, I felt sick so I went home.  When I got home, I found my package and I was really excited.  Usually I'm always excited to receive new packages, but that day I was more excited.  Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes are pretty expensive because of the shipping cost.  So, if I decided that I want to buy some, I would have to make one big purchase, and also make sure that I really want that colour.  Anyway, after I made my first purchase with two from the BiB4 and Faraway from GOMM, I've been looking at the other polishes.  I found out more about the GOMM collection and how it'll never be brought back once the polishes are sold out.

Anyway, the next polish I really wanted was Santa Fe and Ghost.  I wasn't going to just buy two polishes though, so when the pre-order came for Emoting Me, I had to add these two into my cart.  I would have added Poppy but I don't wear reds often.  Online pictures of Poppy are very pretty though.

Thoughts
The formula for me was pretty thick, but it was easy to apply.  I thought it was mainly opaque after one coat but I added a second coat just to even it out, but it didn't really need it.  The green shimmer is very fine and isn't that noticeable. It's more noticeable in the sunlight.  This type of orange is pretty unique.  Usually oranges are coral or bright.  If I could be similar to the describe from the RBL website, it does remind me of earthy oranges.

Although this is not part of the new collection, I think this is my favourite out of my haul.  From the Facebook update, this is on the running low list. I'm so happy it was available during the pre-order.

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Turn It Around

As part of my Rescue Beauty Lounge haul, I wanted to share Turn It Around which is my second Emoting Me polish.  When I saw pictures for the pre-order, I had to get this.  I had already passed up the opportunity to buy Halcyon because I always thought it would be there.  Although this is not similar to Halcyon in anyway, I thought it was unique and it was within the green family.

Thoughts
Turn It Around is definitely comes off as like mud on grass.  I believe the description is a green mossy pond with chopper shimmer.  It's very pretty and different.  It was pretty easy to apply, the formula is pretty thick but I think the application is pretty easy.

**warning for my pictures below.  I kept ruining my pointer finger and I had to repaint that nail.  Then I realized my pictures seem like there's some cotton fuzz on it. I would re-take the pictures but it's my busy time at work and I just really wanted to post these pictures.  Sorry in advance.**

Turn It Around looks so beautiful in the bottle

The green definitely comes out differently in the sunlight

The bottle is 12mL.  Will be available on the Rescue Beauty Lounge website April 30th.

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Be Humble

I wanted to share Rescue Beauty Lounge Be Humble.  The only reason is because this is probably the only time I'd be part of the group that ordered during the pre-ordering event and I'm lucky that it came so quickly!  I bought four polishes in total during that sale, two are from the GOMM collection and two are from the Emoting Me collection.

My little haul picture

Be Humble is part of the Emoting Me collection that will be on sale on Tuesday, April 30th.  I'm guessing the special collections go for U$20 and not part of a special collection sells for U$18.

Thoughts:
The polish is exactly what I expect from the quality of Rescue Beauty Lounge.  After I made my order, I started to read other blogs that had swatches of the entire collection.  Since my nail polish is already so large, I'm not too sure if this is a unique shade but I still like it.  It's very delicate and it's exactly what I wanted.  I really love the pink, blue, and lavender shimmer.  It's also very work appropriate.

Also I just like the meaning of being humble.  Lately I've been getting into vibrant colours since spring is coming and I've been working long hours of overtime, but it's nice not to always wear those type of loud colour.  I would definitely call this a soft, subtle colour.

I'm trying to capture the shimmer here.  This is what I like about RBL nail polishes the most.

Bottle Comparison shot

I just wanted to see how different Be Humble was to Insouciant.  Insouciant is more lavender and darker in colour.  Be Humble looks like it leans from a muted lavender or a light grey or even a light taupe.  I only say muted lavender because of the pink, blue, lavender shimmer can give off that hue.
L to R: Insouciant and Be Humble

Insouciant has blue, green and purple shimmer.  Be Humble has pink, blue and lavender shimmer.

I bought Be Humble during the pre-order sale early in April.  The size is 12mL.

Coral Blushes/Orange lip products

Today I decided to something different.  I had a lot of blushes that happen to be coral and I thought I would share.  I don't want to say I'm an expert on blushes.  All I know is I own a lot of blushes, that I probably don't need.  Well, my face is oily, and I usually wear BB cream, but by afternoon, I would have to blot face, so I'm not sure how long the blushes last on me anyway.  Well either way I have fun wearing blush, and I think that's all that really matters.

So I have the following colours and I'm not going to say too much about them because like I said I'm not an expert.

Illamasqua Love:  I really like this colour.  I have two Illamasqua colours and I just swiped a bit with my brush and it's very pigmented!  Just a little warning about that.  I previously had another orangey blush from Shiseido (that's discontinued) and I used to have to swipe a lot to get colour so I'm just used to that motion but it's not needed for this.

MAC Peaches:  One day during lunch hour I went to MAC and asked the MAC lady to put it on my face.  I really like it and it's so pretty.  I don't own a lot of MAC products, but I'm happy I own this one.

Tarte Blissful: I think it's more coral than orangey.

Tarte Tipsy:  I bought this during the Sephora VIB sale.  It's more orange compared to Blissful.  I'm more excited to actual wear this.  That's who this post came along because I was just wondering how my other blushes compare.

I added two Revlon lip products just because it was going along with the theme and I like how they look.

Revlon Lip Butter: Tutti Frutti.  I can wear this colour very light or add more to make it more pigemented.  I really like that about the lip butters.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lipstains Rendezvous.  I like this when I don't really want to worry about it smudging and just staying on my lips.  My lips are kind of a weird shape so I like being able to draw with a jumbo pencil.

That's all for now :)

Brown Gradient Look

I wore this look because I saw on OPI UK Instagram that had a gradient of browns, which looked a lot better than my pictures below since it was more of a gradual change, mine is pretty dramatic especially for my thumb colour.  I didn't have all the colours that the instagram picture had, and I'm not quite sure which colours they used anyway.

These are the colours I used.  From L to R: OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys, Essie The Glamours Purse, Essie Sand of a Beach, Essie Sand Tropez, and Essie Topless & Barefoot

Thoughts
These aren't new Essie's and I've had them for a while but I just thought they applied like a dream.  The reason I wanted to mention the Essie polishes and how they applied was because I always think that Essie polishes are a hit or a miss for me.  I don't want them to be too thick.  Usually the first coat is streaky and the second evens out.  I was just disappointed with my most recent Essie Polish (Go Ginza), that when I applied these, I was so happy with the formula.  The OPI was pretty good too but for the look, it was a little dark.

Basically these are the only colours of this range in my collection.  I have one that is another Essie but it had a more of a yellow base tint that I decided not to use this.  Instead I went with Sand of a Beach.  There is fine pink shimmer.  Painting this colour made me realize once more how lovely that colour is.

This pictures will be awkward because I was trying to angle my thumb.  I never realized how uncomfortable it was to have a pose like this.

I bought all these polishes a while ago.  I checked online and they are still available at Trade Secrets.  I've seen the Essie polishes at Wal-Mart and Trade Secrets as well.
