Dior: Spring Ball

Today I have Dior's Spring Ball to share.  The box says Sparkling Color Extreme Wear Nail Lacquer, and it comes in a silver box, so I'm assuming it's a special Spring/Summer limited edition.  There is a matching lip gloss and lip stick.  I went to Sephora on Thursday for the VIB sale for Chic Week.  Originally my mission was only to buy Marc Jacob's Dot, but I happened to walk through the Dior aisle and found all these pretty polishes.  From a far, I have to honestly say I wasn't that impressed just because it was varying shades of pink.  Then I picked up a bottle, Diablotine, which was a dark red and it was very sparkly.  Then my eyes wondered to the left to see if they had a peachy colour.  They had a pink, and coral and finally I got to the peach colour, Spring Ball.  I knew that as soon as I saw the peach colour that I would end up buying it.  I really had to rationalize it as is 15% off now, and if I wait, it'd either be gone or I'll end up paying full price.

Thoughts
Spring Ball is very thick in formula.  When I painted my nails, sometimes it felt as if I didn't have enough polish.  The brush is huge, so I didn't load up on polish as I normally would because I assumed that the brush would hold a lot more polish.  I thought if I loaded up too much polish, I would have a pooling effect or it would just turn out very thick.  So I tried to do thin coats.  The brush itself is very wide and full of bristles.  What I liked about the brush was that it's not square, and it's a bit rounded on the bottom so I didn't get polish everywhere.  I could control where I applied the polish.  I'm always very happy to be able to stay on the nail on days I try to.

The colour itself is very pretty.  It's a peachy colour with delicate shimmer.  For some reason, this reminds me a little bit of the old Maybelline Wet Shine Diamond polishes that I used to buy while in University.  Not in finish, but just the type of glittery type of polish.

What I love about this polish is that it's a very Spring/Summer colour.  The part that I'm not too crazy about is how I couldn't level off the polish.  There are some fingers that don't have full coverage or the application is not even.  I used two coats.  I could have covered those uneven spots with a third coat, but I didn't want to end up with thick nail polish.  Since the formula is thick, I can imagine that happening.

I have decided to keep this polish, despite my feelings towards the application because it could be something that I can improve on.  I really love this colour in general and it dried pretty quickly.

Colour Coat: Dior Spring Ball (2 coats)
Top coat: Seche Vite Top Coat

The brush shot.  Nice rounded brush.

The bottle without the silver cap

I do find that the finish is very pretty.  My middle finger is a little uneven near the cuticle area.

Random picture of my right hand and it's slightly better but my pointer finger is a bit uneven.

I bought this at Sephora.  It retails for C$24 and the bottle has 10mL.  I visited a few Sephora's in the Toronto area. When I went on the first day of the VIB sale, there were more bottles.  I went to the Sephora at Eaton Centre, and they didn't have any colours for this line at all.  The one closer to my house only had Delice left.  It's sold out online.
