Hi Everyone,
This is going to be a quick post since I'm not sure if this shade is available anymore. It's Deborah Lippmann La Vie en Rose, which is a Limited Edition shade and during the Sephora sale, it was mostly gone. When I was returning something, I happened to find the last bottle of this.
I don't own a lot of Deborah Lippmann products. Actually I own three to be exact. This would be my fourth shade.
It's a very pretty shade. I knew it could be a little thin but it makes the colour more delicate. Overall, I didn't really like this as much as I was hoping I would so I actually returned it. The reason I didn't like it is because I had to use about 3-4 coats of polish and it took a long time to dry. Sure 3-4 coats is a lot of coats but that's how much I would paint thin shades and the drying time took longer. During this time, because I thought it would be fine, I started doing stuff and realized it was still tacky. After 3 hours, I still wasn't sure if it was completely dry.
After the topcoat, my thumb had a little chip (now this could be due to the drying and layering of the polish). So I had to repair that. Then it chipped on my pinky nail on the second day. When I returned it to Sephora, the person completing my return said that it was because I added too many layers (she gave me attitude, but I remained to be nice). I guess because I paid a lot more for this, I expected more. Also, I didn't change anything about what I was doing, yet I was experiencing this stuff. I would have loved to love this polish.
I guess I could say that it could have been my top coat. I did use my OPI Top Coat on another manicure that I didn't blog about and it was fine.
Basecoat: OPI Natural Nail base
Colour layer: Deborah Lippmann La Vie en Rose (4 coats)
Topcoat: OPI Top Coat
Pretty bottle shot
Fine pink shimmer
Brush shot
I bought La Vie en Rose at Sephora for C$22.00. It is no longer available online and it is difficult in store.
