Clean Up! Part 4 - Current make up collection eye and face

Hello!

Today I have my current make up collection after the clean out.  This is really for myself, so that I can look back on my post.

I'm trying very hard to not buy any make up in October.  This is just the beginning of October and I'm already shopping around, so this is going to be a challenge for me.  Maybe I am a compulsive buyer, but at least I acknowledge it (??).

Anyway, here we go!
Eye make up products

1. Lots of Urban Decay Products.  I really love UD! I wasn't like this before, because I was more into Japanese make up brands, or like other brands.  I had a lot of Dior before because I liked their quads. I never ended up using them though.  Anyway, my first Urban Decay Palette was the 15th Anniversary. I really loved the buttery texture, so I bought the Naked palette the year after (also once it was back in stock). Then I ended up with all the Naked Palettes (except for Smokey). One point I want to mention is, since I liked more than 3 colours in each palette, it just made more sense to buy the palette than buy those colours individually.

I would repurchase Naked 1 and 3. Not Naked 2 because I noticed that I don't actually use it that often. I was using it for the entire March, but I was forcing myself. For Naked 1, this is the palette I bring with me when I travel. I've owned it for a pretty long time. I bought it after it came out, but I would say it's still a pretty long time.  I find myself constantly discovering that I like other shades in this palette. Also, as I grow older, I'm more into neutrals. I like the buttery texture and the colour payoff. I also like that there is a mix of mattes, shimmers and metallic shades. Also depending on the brush and technique I am using, I can have a soft look, or dramatic look or smokey look.

I also really like Naked 3. I was using it quite often after I bought it. What I like about it is, it is rose toned, but I don't look like I'm sick. I also like the range of dark colours in this palette.  There are more metallic shades, but I'm okay with that. I also notice that when I use any type of brush to pick up the product, it's so simple to apply. There are other shadows in other palettes that I have to constantly add more product to my brush to get anything on my lids.

2. Marc Jacobs The Lover palette. I bought this during my trip to Hawaii. I really like it. It's mainly pink toned, but lighter than Naked 3 (rose gold).  I bought the Lolita palette too but I didn't like that as much and ended up returning it.  There was one glitter shade that I did not like. What I like about The Lover palette is, it's very subtle in colour and gives off a softer look. What I find with my Naked palettes is, it is highly pigmented with metallic shades, but sometimes the colours come off very strong. I don't know how to explain it because I would consider both pigmented but trying to achieve a different type of look. While putting it on the brush, it might also be more powdery, and this is more expensive. I am still very happy I bought this.

3. Tarte Tartelette palette. This is my first matte eye shadow palette.  I read some reviews that it's kind of blotchy, which I can see, but overall, for someone who doesn't own many mattes, it's perfect for me.  Also for days I don't want any glitter/shimmer. I like that there is beige, purple and taupe colours. Which covers a wide range. Also, I bought this in December with the Sephora gift card. I ended up paying $24 for this palette.

4. Unii palette. One contains the depotted shadows from the Disney Cinderella and Ariel palettes.  I kept the neutrals only.  I guess I am at an age where bright green eyeshadow might not be work appropriate.  The other palette contains my Nars depotted shadows.

5. Unii palette. The Nars shadows are old. Maybe from 2009-2011.  I know this, but I couldn't part with them.  These are the ones I bought from a warehouse sale too.  Back when i would be one of the first people in line and was able to get the shadows before others got it. My favourite ones are discontinued, The palette contains: Indian Summer, Cheyenne, Bohemian Gold, Earth Angel and Charade.  I honestly am keeping this because I really like Cheyenne. The reason I'm getting back to Nars is, I want a different type of look with my eye shadow. I want to take a blending blush and just swipe it over my eyes for a soft look. Nars eye shadows do a good job at that. The ones I've kept are very pigmented. I owed a lot of Nars eye shadows before and threw a lot of them away. Mainly because I didn't find them pigmented enough. Not compared to my Urban Decay shadows. Now I'm in a different stage where I want that soft look again.

I depotted these palettes but, I think I prefer it in their original packaging.  This is something I realized after I depotted a bunch of shadows. While it's convenient, sometimes it is bulky.  I also like my eyeshadows and blushes separated.  Also the clean up of the palette is annoying.  If I want to disinfect, I would have to take everything outside of the palette and then spray.

6. Shu Uemura custom duo.  I recently exchanged something for these colours.  I have recently gotten back into an Asian make up kick.  So, in my duo, I have me light beige 825 (metallic gold sand) and p light beige 822 (pearl cream beige).  This is my current favourite. Both are shimmary shadows. What I like about it is, the colours are very soft and subtle look. Similar to the reason why I love the Marc Jacobs. I do have to pick up a lot with my brush in order for the colour to show through. Though the shades I chose are light colours. I can't comment on how a darker shade would appear on my lids because I don't own one. I do think these are a bit expensive considering each shadow is C$19 and you have to buy the case for it. Even though they are refillable, it's going to ages until I can reuse the case with new shadows. (Left 825 and 822 on the right)

7. Urban Decay palette. This was the OZ palette but I changed it for the shadows I wanted to keep and got rid of items that I didn't use, and probably won't use. Colours are L-R: Tornado (LE), Loaded (P), Evidence (P), Peach shade can't find the label (LE), Magic (LE), South (LE).

8. Urban Decay single shadows. Walk of Shame came with the original make your own palette.  I have hit pan and it's almost done!  The second one is Diamond Dog.  Which is a shimmery shadow.  Lately I've been really enjoying this as well.  Pictured below is Diamond Dog. I swear I had cleared my arm hair but I guess I was wrong. Sorry!

9 Shisedo shadow in a brown colour BE303. I bought this at a fall warehouse and I didn't realize it had broken inside.  I haven't used this yet. So, I thought I would give it a try.

10. Sephora Prisma Chrome in Orange Facets. This is also an older colour, but I like it. So I kept it. It's probably from 2013 as well.  There's a nice orange sheen that it gives off.  I like to use it with a fluffy brush. It's a nice wash of orange. I don't know why I like wearing orange eyeshadow but I do. This is pretty shimmery as well.  The pigmentation is nice. If I add a lot on my brush, it can give off a more metallic look (usually I like to have a sheer wash of this orange).

11. Urban Decay Primer Potion. Now this is way old. I bought a set with the Original, Sin and Greed for $22 for these jumbo bottles because they were changing packaging. I always thought that after they were done, I would buy the new packaging. Urban Decay has already changed that packaging to the new packaging with a doe foot applicator.  I am currently working on Sin, and then I will eventually go to Greed.  So, I guess I'm set?  I have opened Greed before, so I don't know if it's still good. Doesn't matter, I kind of don't want to invest on a new primer. Also, I've heard that the new packaging isn't so great and the formula has changed.

12. Maybelline gel liners. I have blackest black, brown and eggplant.  I realized just now that these are also from 2012.  I know I own a lot of make up, but I realized a lot of the stuff I own is old.  2012 must have been a great make up buying year for me.

Face Products
1. Shu Uemura UV under base brightening mousse. I like this, and I think it makes my skin looks really nice. It is hard to control how much I squeeze out though because it's from a can and it's a mousse. I don't use this too often because it's an extra step on my morning routine.

2. Urban Decay Naked foundation. I used to only use BB creams. I bought this as part of a kit.  I started using it early this year in March. I have to say that I really like this. It's so light weight and it doesn't feel like I have anything on my skin.

3. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. This is a foundation that I remember liking. So I bought it while it was on sale to bring with me for travel. I'm weird like that. I rather bring this than use my UD foundation. It is thicker so I use very little of it.  There's no pump, so I have to pour it out.

4. Maybelline Fit Me concealer.  My skin isn't that nice but I don't actually have red bumps to conceal. I bought it because I bought the Maybelline BB cream to use for travel and wanted this for spots. I ended up forgetting to bring this.  I do like it though. I notice that I do use it, I'm not sure what I'm concealing but I like it.

5. Missha BB Cream. My UD foundation is almost finished, so I thought I would go back to BB cream for now. We'll see.  I think I was over doing it, because I had a thick layer and sometimes it would get on my jacket.  This isn't just the Missha BB, but all BB creams. >_<

Then there are a variety of samples that I have.  I don't really have any feelings towards them but I use it.

Urban Decay De Slick make up setting spray. This works very well but sometimes I do find that my face is very oily afterwards. If I blot my face, the oil will be absorbed but the make up will stay in place. I bought this a long time ago as well for a wedding I was attending, and I didn't want to have my make up melt off.  Other than that, I don't use it that often.  Which is why I still have it in the old packaging.
